Summary:  The Little Prince triumphs in its innovative style of animation, coupled with a capturing story filled with great characters and inspiring messages.  "Masterpiece" is the most suitable word that describes this film.

Review:  The story of the Little Prince is about a little girl that grows up in the gray, boring society of order, perfection and conformity.  Indoctrinated by this society, the mother has routinely planned out every minute of her daughter's life until she graduates from school and becomes "successful."  But one day, the little girl discovers a colorful and imaginative page from the story of the Little Prince that the old man next door wrote.  According to the society, and the mother, the old man next door and his story are out of place and outlandish.  However, the little girl and the old man end up crossing paths anyways.  As the old man recounts more of the story of the Little Prince to the little girl, her imagination is expanded, her creativity comes to life, she starts breaking the norms of the society, she disregards her mother's master plan, and from that point on, the rest of the story takes flight and captures the audience in the wonderful world that the movie creates.

One of the key features of the Little Prince is its duel use of computer and stop-motion animation.  Computer animation is used to tell the story of the little girl, but when her aged neighbor recounts the story of the Little Prince, the animation transitions to a style of stop-motion animation that comes straight out of a beautifully illustrated children's book (in fact, the Little Prince movie is based on the children's book by Antoine De Saint-Exupery).  Both uses of animation are stunning and visually capturing.

The Little Prince is deeply symbolic with so many meanings that anyone, old and young, can be inspired by.  The messages of love, creativity, imagination, growing up and being a kid are powerful and hit a mark that most films and television series' in this modern age fail to even aim at.  Although at times, the Little Prince does seem to be over-saturated in symbolism to where the general audience may lose sight on what the story is really all about.  But the parts of the Little Prince that are easy to understand teach us all valuable lessons to live by.

Beautiful animation, a vibrant story, an excellent cast of voice actors and inspiring messages is what the Little Prince delivers, and it's a very good reason to own a Netflix subscription.  I will even further argue that the Little Prince outdoes everything that Pixar has come up with in the past five years.  The Little Prince truly has the potential to produce fond memories that one would normally only get from Disney movies.
